  1.  iwebquest.com Presents our Great New Webquest:

OceanQuest 2004

Here is a sample of what you will find:

"On my vacation at the ocean, I saw and heard how our ocean and the animals that live there are being put into danger by the activities of humans. One day, I saw a bunch of trash from a fast food restaurant that people had just left on the beach. Another day, some people on jet-skis came and made all sorts of noise. Later, I noticed a gas slick near the marina. These are just a few of the many human-caused problems are impacting our ocean and the animals that live there. It was discouraging. Then, I ran across an article on the, Oceans Act of 2004. This article describes how congress has created a group of people to develop a plan to help the oceans and the animals that live there. The best part is that they are looking for kids to help. I want to work together with you and other students in your class to help our oceans…”

This sounds great! Take me to OceanQuest 2004 so I can get started!

4.  Teacher Corner:  Topic of the Month

Sometimes it seems that no matter how hard we teachers try, we end up trapped in our own classroom creating our own lesson plans.  The Internet is revolutionizing teaching and brining us into the age of “We Is Smarter Than Me!”  The Teachers Corner: Topic of the Month utilizes the Internet to create an open forum where teachers can share their ideas and lesson plan on the topic of the month.  Would you like to submit your ideas to be considered for publication in iwebquest.com’s Webquest Newsletter for the upcoming month?  Please e-mail your ideas or lesson plans to support@iwebquest.com. with the words “Teacher’s Corner:  Topic of the Month” in the subject box.

5.  Kid’s Contest

Wow! Each month, thousands of students participate in the activities that are on our Webquests.  This month those kids will be working to create a web page on an ocean animal using a mural of this animal and a report that they write on this animal. We invite you to participate and then share your web page with us.  We will link to all of your web pages but we will use the rubrics that you can find on the Webquest to chose the top three student web pages that will be placed into a special winner’s circle. Teachers, parents, and students proceed to the OceanQuest 2000.

Please recommend iwebquest.com’s Webquest Newsletter to a friend!

Have a great Month.
I look forward to speaking with you again at this same time next month.
